You're Invited to the Lantern Parade

You're Invited to the Lantern Parade

We are celebrating he Year of the Horse with a super special knitting pattern.

The Lantern Parade Shawl knits up like a blessing, helping you set intentions and manifestations for the coming year. This is a challenging but joyful knit, one that invites presence, patience, and curiosity!

When casting on the shawl, you begin with a small scalloped start. Quietly, without even noticing it, you'll expand into a wide semi-circle in the lively striped lace section. There's rhythm and joy in these movements.

The striped lace will transition into the Lantern Cable Panels - a parade of seven rise from the surface, carrying symbolism of continuity, blessing, and renewal. A Latvian braid marks the closing of the cable section.

Each section offers a different rhythm, and together they form a piece full of movement and meaning.

Traditionally, lanterns symbolise guidance, celebration, and good fortune. Knitting this shawl is meant to feel like carrying those wishes forward, a good blessing for the year ahead, and a reminder to keep moving, stitch by stitch.

Take your time, enjoy the process, and let the shawl unfold like a lantern parade in your hands ✨
