The Riviera Sheer Poncho
The Riviera Sheer Poncho
What you'll learn
- Double Knit Edge
The Pattern
Designed to be the ultimatevcompanion piece to the Riviera BeachMaxi, this sheer poncho utilizes the same shimmering combination of Cashmere silk Veranita and sequins. By working the yarns on oversized needles, the poncho achieves an even more transparent, ultra-sheer drape than the skirt.
The true romance of this design lies in its shimmering, translucent texture. By holding a delicate strand of ultrafine Veranita cashmere lace together with the gentle sparkle of Cosmos sequins, the fabric catches the light like stars reflecting on the water.

Construction Method
To give the piece a premium finish and prevent the open sides from curling, the edges are framed with a 3-stitch double-knit edge, perfectly mirroring the deep back slit of the matching skirt. The piece is constructed as one continuous rectangle. You cast on the vertical drop length of the poncho, and knit horizontally until the piece is wide enough to cover the body. The rectangle is then folded in half, and the Cast-On and Bind-Off edges are seamed together on one side partially. This creates a stunning asymmetrical drape.
