The Pattern
The Slasher Shawlette is a striking mosaic colourwork shawl, designed as a classic, pointed symmetrical triangle that features the Screaming Ghost Motif. Each colour is knit on its own, two rows at a time, making it an easy introduction to colourwork projects. The pattern is written for fingering and lace weight yarn held double: we recommend Dashing Sassy and Veranita or Kid Mohair Silk.
Difficulty: Adventurous Beginner/Intermediate.
Construction Method
This shawlette is worked sideways, beginning with an I-cord tab cast-on. It features an I-cord edging and a two-colour Mosaic Stitch. Only one colour is used at a time, worked across two full rows before switching. The shape is created by increasing along one edge until the shawlette reaches its widest point, after which matching decreases are worked to mirror the first half.
