The Snaking Bolero is a cropped, long-sleeved jumper with a folded collar and striped chevron yoke. Short rows shape the back neck before increases widen the yoke. Sleeve stitches are held while the body is completed, then returned to the needles for the shaped sleeves. Ribbed cuffs and sewn bind-offs finish the garment, with the option to extend the body length.

Needles

3.75 mm circular needles with 40 cm and 80 cm cables, plus your preferred 3.75 mm needles for small circumferences. Adjust needle size as necessary to obtain gauge.

Construction

A folded collar and short-row back neck lead into an expanding chevron yoke. Sleeve stitches are held while the body is completed, then picked up for shaped sleeves with ribbed cuffs and sewn bind-offs.

Gauge

24 sts x 26 rnds for 10 cm / 4” swatch on 3.75mm / US 5 or needle size to obtain gauge, in chevron stitch after blocking. 30 sts x 36 rnds for 10 cm / 4” swatch on 3.75mm / US 5 or needle size to obtain gauge, in rib stitch when lightly stretched.
