The Pattern
The Cloudfall Cardigan is a top-down V-neck cardigan featuring airy lace stitches, designed for Super Floof DK & fingering weight yarn. The cardigan is worked using a decorative elongated stitch, making it a fun and versatile statement piece.
Difficulty: Intermediate / Advanced.
Please note: To achieve the look knitted in our sample, you will need 1x extra Undertow Fade Set in Dashing Fingering 50g.
Construction Method
It is constructed top-down, beginning with the back panel. This piece is then cast off and
turned upside down, where stitches are picked up along the cast-on edge to continue working downward and completing the upper back section with armhole increases.
The stitches are placed on hold while each front piece is picked up and worked separately, shaping the shoulders with short rows and the V-neck and underarm with increases. Next, all pieces are joined at the underarm, then the body is completed and finished with a ribbed hem. Stitches are then picked up around the armhole. Short rows and stockinette stitch are used to shape the sleeve cap before working the lace pattern in the round and finishing with a ribbed cuff. Finally, the cardigan is completed by picking up stitches around the front and neck edges and working a ribbed edging. The pattern is divided into sections and subsections as a guide to help you find your place easily
