If you’d prefer to knit the pattern in sizes XS, 2XL, 4XL and 5XL without joining the test knit, feel free to reach out at contact@qingfibre.com. We recognise this is an important issue and are actively working to ensure all sizes are thoroughly tested and accurate.
The Pattern
This beautiful airy summer top is a perfect sunny day staple. Look fantastic laying on the beach, having iced coffee at the local cafe, walking through a blossoming park or standing in the ice cream van queue.
The eye-catching top is knit with our Teddy and Veranita bases, giving the top portion ample coverage, but leaving the honey-comb lace flowy and lacy.
Skill level: Beginner to Intermediate
Construction Method
Lolita Strap Top is worked top down. It begins with one front strap and a little front neckline shaping, stitches are then placed on hold and a second strap worked for the other side. The two pieces are then joined at the front with additional cast-on stitches to complete the front neckline. The bodice is continued with bust and underarm shaping then stitches are placed on hold. Stitches are cast on for a back strap and shaped for one side of the back. Stitches are put on hold and a second back strap worked for the other side. The back and front pieces are then joined and worked in the round for the rest of the bodice. The lower body is then worked in contrasting yarn in an open-honeycomb lace stitch. Lastly, straps are adjusted to the desired length and the front and back straps joined at the shoulders.
