Lantern Parade Shawl unfolds like a moving celebration. Each section introduces a new rhythm,
making the knitting process varied, engaging, and intentional.
The shawl begins with a small scalloped start, quiet and contained, before gradually expanding into a
wide semi-circle form with a lively section of striped lace, creating rhythm, brightness, and a sense
of joyful motion. As the shawl grows, the shawl transitions into the Lantern Cable Panels, bold, three-dimensional motifs inspired by illuminated lanterns in procession. Seven repeating cable forms rise from the surface, carrying symbolism of continuity, blessing, and renewal. A Latvian braid marks the closing of the cable section. Ending with a decorative picot bind off.
