We are so excited to introduce everyone to Katharina from Le Pull Studio. It has been a joy collaborating on our upcoming Mystery Box Train to Downtown. Read all about where her ideas come from, her memories of knitting and best tips and tricks.
The Moodboard
Expect bold, bright and exciting, luxurious vibes of a city girl. Here's the moodboard Katharina has put together to illustrate what she is working on.

Do you remember the first thing you made, and what made you want to make it?
The first thing I ever knitted was a beanie. I learned how to knit 11 years ago when I moved to the south of France and met my mother-in-law, who knits. She had made a beanie that I really loved, and she taught me how to make it as well (I must have knitted about ten of them in the end!).

How did you start designing your own patterns?
When I started knitting, I bought a lot of patterns, but there were always things I wanted to change to better suit my taste and style. In the end, I never really finished any projects (except for the famous beanie). So I thought that instead of modifying existing patterns all the time, it would make more sense to create my own.
What is the best knitting/crochet advice you’ve ever gotten?
Weave in your ends as you go, rather than leaving everything for the end.

Where do you find the most inspiration?
I spend a lot of time browsing Pinterest and looking at luxury fashion runway shows. I almost never take inspiration from knitwear itself. I’m more inspired by shapes or details seen on garments (outside of knitwear), which I then translate into knitting.
What do you like most about working with yarn?
The endless possibilities. There are so many choices - textures, colors, fibers: that creation really has no limits.

Do you have a favourite knitting tool?
The Spin Buddy from The Knitting Box.
What do you do when you’re not busy making and designing?
About 90% of my time is dedicated to knitting and work. The little time I have left I spend with my partner and my dogs, and going on long outings in nature (forests, rivers). When I do get some time for myself, I enjoy making objects for the home (papier-mâché, pottery, Fimo clay, painting). I’m quite girly too, so of course shopping, beauty treatments, and manicures—although that stays fairly occasional since I don’t have much free time.
Train to Downtown will be available to pre-order on January 30th, 9pm GMT.
