The Garment

The highly anticipated Snaking vest pattern is here! 

The Snaking vest is an A-Line camisole style top, featuring the signature stylish chevron as its core motif. The top can be further extended and increased to create a beautiful a-line shift-style dress, reaching any length of your choosing. This versatile garment is an absolute wardrobe staple.

We have used the chevron stitch and alternating colours to create the snaking lines seen throughout. Increases are worked throughout the sections of the garment, meaning the chevrons gradually grow in size. The pattern is worked in the round from the top down with i-cord straps.

Materials & Additional Information 

Yarn A - Fjord by Qing Fibre (80% lambswool, 20% nylon, 466 m / 510 yds – 100 g), colourway Sacramento Green.
657 (727, 800, 867, 941)(1063, 1217, 1212, 1323) metres / 718 (795, 875, 948, 1029)(1163, 1331, 1326, 1447) yards / 2 (2, 2, 2, 3)(3, 3, 3, 3) skeins. 

Yarn B - Melted Baby Suri by Qing Fibre (65% baby suri alpaca, 20% Merino wool, 15% silk, 175 m / 190 yds – 50 g), colourway Bone.
154 (171, 191, 207, 227)(254, 297, 293, 325) metres / 168 (187, 209, 226, 248)(278, 325, 320, 355) yards / 1 (1, 2, 2, 2)(2, 2, 2, 2) skeins. 

These are the colourways we chose, but feel free to get creative! Alternatively, we recommend purchasing a skein of our luxury Veranita or rustic Wensleyhaze base for this design.

Needle 
3.75mm / US 5 40 cm / 16” and 80 cm / 32” circular needles, and your preferred type of 3.75mm / US 5
needles for small circumferences.

Gauge
24 sts x 26 rnds for 10 cm / 4” swatch on 3.75mm / US 5 or needle size to obtain gauge, in chevron stitch after blocking

30 sts x 36 rnds for 10 cm / 4” swatch on 3.75mm / US 5 or needle size to obtain gauge, in rib stitch when lightly stretched
