THE YEAR OF THE RAT – OUR HAT PATTERN
2020 is the Chinese Year of the Rat. This signals prosperity and a touch of hard-work too. To mark this special occasion, we’ve created a FREE hat pattern, for our loyal and lovely customers. You’re welcome!
This is an add-on to the rat crochet toy pattern that some of you may be familiar with. It’s great fun for kids of all ages, although this is specifically designed for children aged six months to two years’ old.
It won’t take much of your time either, roughly an hour and a half.
Feel free to customise it as you see fit. A pom-pom is always a fun addition!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- An 8mm circular needle, or 4x 8mm DPNS
- Chunky or bulky yarn (we recommend one Skein of Big Merino Chunky)
- Pom Pom Maker
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
Abbreviations:
Co- Cast On
Bo - Bind off
K - Knit
P - Purl

Now you’re nearing the end, this would be the right time to add in the pom-pom if you chose to do so. We recommend sewing on two pom poms to bring some character to your beanie.
