There’s something magical about the rhythm of the seasons, and our Advent boxes have become one of our most cherished traditions. They’re our love letter to the fibre community, full of colour, creativity, and heart.
Creating these Advents is one of our favourite parts of the year. They hold more than yarn, they hold stories. Friendships. A spark of something festive and handmade. At the centre of it all is the quiet joy of making something just for yourself, or for someone dear. That, to us, is what makes it all so meaningful.
Meet the Maker - Vanessa of Oshen Knits
We’re beyond delighted to be collaborating with the wonderful Vanessa Fleming of Oshen Knits this year.
Vanessa is deeply rooted in her coastal Oregon community, where she runs her beautiful yarn and craft shop, Oshen Knits and Fibres. (where you’ll even find some of our yarn on the shelves!) Her journey began on commercial fishing vessels, where she first started designing knitwear amidst the wild and windy waves.
Vanessa brings a grounded, soulful energy to modern knitting. Her designs are clean, wearable, and effortlessly contemporary, think relaxed fits, joyful colours, and thoughtful details that make every stitch feel just right. With a palette that sings and patterns that soothe, her work invites you to slow down, breathe deep, and fall in love with the process.
This Year’s Theme: Christmas on the Coast
Inspired by Vanessa’s home by the water, this year’s Advent theme is 'Christmas on the Coast."
Picture salty breezes, misty skies, windswept beaches, and long walks wrapped in handknits. Followed by warm drinks and quiet moments with yarn in hand. It’s a celebration of nature’s changing hues, the cosiness of winter by the sea, and the peaceful joy of creating something just for the love of it.

About The Pattern:
While we can’t give too much away, here’s a little peek into what’s to come...
The exclusive pattern is designed by Vanessa and worked in DK yarn held double. Each mini skein is a semi-solid with delicate speckles, striking on its own, but absolutely magical when paired with the next. Together, they create a marled fade effect across the kaleidoscope of nature’s beauty blending together in harmony
It’s peaceful, vibrant, and full of wonder, just like a coastal Christmas.
How do I Order?
Pre-orders open Friday 6th August 7pm BST (4am ACT, 2pm ET). Once purchased, you will receive a confirmation email of your order. The Qing Studio team will then get to work putting together your box to be shipped to you arrive by Mid November. Each box is fully tracked and a tracking link will be emailed to you once it has been dispatched.
