Super Floof DK is a 100% merino base, brushed to create a soft, cloud-like halo. The result is a fabric that feels airy and luxurious, with a gentle warmth and a subtle, velvety texture.
Merino is celebrated for its unique fibre structure: ultra-fine strands that provide natural temperature regulation, exceptional breathability, and moisture-wicking properties. It is soft against the skin, dries quickly, and resists odour, making it one of the most versatile fibres for everyday wear and seasonal layering.
Its fluffy halo makes it an ideal alternative for those who love the look of mohair and alpaca, but prefer a yarn with greater sensitivity to the skin. With a slightly thicker profile than our sport weight Melted Baby Suri, this DK base balances structure with softness, creating a fabric that is both durable and refined.
The yarn knits into a breathable, snuggly material that can shift in character depending on the needle size used. The swatches pictured above are knitted with 3mm, 5mm, 8mm and 10mm needles.
Worked on smaller needles, the fabric becomes dense and plush; on larger needles, it opens into a cloud-soft texture with an ethereal drape. The floof offers endless possibilities for experimenting with gauge, texture, and silhouette!
