Introducing Harlequin Shawlette

Introducing Harlequin Shawlette

The colder days have started to roll in, and that crisp shift in the weather always calls for something small, comforting, and wonderfully simple to make. With just one skein of Super Floof DK and one skein of Dashing Fingering, this cosy project came together almost effortlessly, transforming into a Harlequin-inspired shawlette full of texture and charm.

The mosaic stitch brings an easy, rhythmic flow to the knitting, letting the hands settle into a calm, steady pace. Because the pattern uses two colours only, and works one colour across two full rows at a time, the colour-work stays clean and intuitive,  perfect for relaxing stitching sessions when something meditative is needed.

Worked sideways from an I-cord tab cast-on, this shawlette features a smooth I-cord edging framing the playful two-colour Harlequin Mosaic fabric. The shape grows gracefully with increases along one edge until the widest point is reached, then mirrors itself with matching decreases to finish. The whole process feels balanced, tidy, and satisfying from start to finish.

And with yarn still left over, there’s even more to look forward to... a pair of matching fingerless mittens is already underway, soon to join this cheerful little set.
